Over the past couple of months, I have questioned what my purpose was in writing this blog. When I was playing and writing about poker, I had a pretty decent following of around 50-100 visitors per day. With this blog, I have found that I average about 3-5 visitors per day. That [...]

A few months back, shortly after I started messing around with Facebook, I connected with an acquaintance from elementary school. In an email to him, I essentially apologized for being a bully when I was in elementary school. When I was in elementary school, I have it seared in my brain that I [...]

I have been frustrated by the incivility I saw in 2009. In one sense, I have been telling myself that this frustration has no place in my new behavior as discussed in my last post – I Release, I Let Go (And Then I Replace It With Something Else). There is nothing I [...]

I have decided to go back to where I last finished the Workbook. Initially, I had said that I wanted to start from the beginning again because I hadn’t “done” the Course in quite some time. However, after chatting with my friend, Mark, he said that it really doesn’t matter where I read [...]

When I contemplate world troubles, I often think, “If only they could see things from my perspective, the world would be a better place.” Do you do that? I do it too much. Once I can change them to my way of thinking, voila! Better world!
Whooooo boy! That [...]

I had begun to feel that my posts were taking on a “fake” feel to them of late – hence, the one week plus break from posting. Originally, I’d intended to post something everyday. But, when I had nights where I couldn’t think of something decent to write about, or what I wrote [...]

As I was reading A Course In Miracles today, I noticed the bookmark that had been placed in my book. I remember putting the bookmark there, but I don’t remember where it came from. In fact, I was kind of surprised to find it there – it is a rather large bookmark, as far as bookmarks go, but I don’t recall noticing what it said in the past. I also don’t know who to credit for it as there was no copyright statement on it. If anyone knows where the following comes from, please let me know – I would gladly give credit where credit is due.

No person is your enemy, no person is your friend, every person is your teacher. – Florence Scovel Shinn
From the time I was very young, I have had difficulty trusting people.  The phrase, “Just trust me,” would set off fire alarm bells

The ego is an insidious thing. Ego is such a small part of who we are, but we make it so much bigger than it deserves to be. The ego will have you believe that you are never successful – you should always be striving for more, more, more. Think about it, how many people around you feel blessed with what they already have? Do you have any friends who have a bigger house than you do and still can’t stop thinking about what more they could have? It is happening more than you might think – even though it may not be advertised out there for everyone to hear. Some say it is human nature to want more. It isn’t – it is ego nature.

I was talking with a friend today – a friend of mine who used to lead a spiritual discussion group I was once part of about 10-15 years ago.  We hadn’t seen each other in years.  He said that after years of spiritual seeking, he has summed up his spiritual beliefs with three simple words [...]
